Long before our first collection reached the public, Chef Masayoshi Baba and his team recognized the importance of preserving and celebrating Japanese craftsmanship. Their belief in our mission helped transform an idea into reality.
As the very first patron of Takumi Collections, Masayoshi became the home of our inaugural handcrafted Dō. That first piece represents far more than the beginning of our collection — it symbolizes a shared commitment to Japanese artistry, traditional techniques, and the enduring value of handcrafted work.
Although one expresses itself through cuisine and the other through craftsmanship, Masayoshi and Takumi Collections are guided by many of the same principles:
